Southern Julian Alps, Central Julian Alps, Eastern Julian Alps, Western Julian Alps, Kamnik Alps, Savinja Alps and Carinthia, Western Karawanks, Central Karawanks

Avalanche danger in the high mountains is moderate
Due to slight cooling and cloudy weather, the danger of wet snow slab avalanches has decreased.

There are still some spots in the high mountains with wind-packed snow where, under greater load, a slab avalanche can be triggered. Weak layers in the snowpack also pose a problem. If the load exceeds the carrying capacity of deeper weak layers, a deep and large avalanche can be triggered. There are many such weak layers, especially on slopes above the forest.

Snow cover
Danger patterns
dp.1: deep hard weak layer
dp.10: spring conditions
The snow cover freezes overnight, but during the day it softens, especially on sun-facing slopes. The old snow cover consists of layers of somewhat cohesive snow that are mostly well bonded together. Deep in the old snow cover, several weak layers of facets and rounded grains appear below the surface.

Weather
Initially mostly clear, during the day low-level cloudiness will develop, with some local showers forming. Mostly weak winds from westerly directions will blow. At midday, the temperature at 1500 m will be around 4 °C, and at 2500 m around -4 °C.

Outlook
The danger of snow avalanches will remain similar.
