Avalanche danger is LOW, level 1.

Snow conditions
Today it snowed again in the mountains, snow line dropped below 1000 m a.s.l. in the north, elsewhere between 1000 and 1200 m. Below about 1900 m snowed on bare ground. Up to about 20 cm of snow fell in the mountains, which mostly bonded well to the base. Light to moderate north to east wind blew, on wind-exposed sites especially in high mountains wind slabs formed. Snow is soft. Significant snow cover currently above about 1300 m a.s.l.

Forecast weather development
In mountains today cloudy, summits in clouds. Snowfall ceasing everywhere. Freezing level at about 1400 m a.s.l. Tomorrow in high mountains and western Julian Alps mostly clear. Elsewhere especially in mid-mountains considerable cloudiness, most over Snežnik area. Light to moderate easterly wind. Afternoon rapid warming at altitudes. Wednesday in high mountains partly clear with occasional dense lenticular cloudiness. In mid-mountains locally lower cloud layer. Mostly light southwesterly. Air mass temperature at 1500 m about 10 °C. Until end of week dry weather with temperature reversal. Cooling at altitudes from Saturday onwards.

Tendency of snow conditions
Snowpack on sun-exposed slopes will soften somewhat during day in coming days and refreeze at night, in mid-mountains also melt. Crust formation. In shaded high mountain locations snow mostly dry. Will settle somewhat, thin crust possible. Avalanche danger low. Under new snow icy base in places, caution needed.
