Snow whitens the mountains 17.9.2013

A cold front passed through Slovenia, bringing precipitation and cooling. The snow line dropped below 1300 m in some places. Up to 15 cm of snow fell, more in some areas. More snow in the eastern part of our mountains, some also on Pohorje. Under the layer of new snow, due to rapid cooling, ice may be encountered in many places. Due to low temperatures, conditions in the mountains are fully wintery. On Kredarica, the temperature at 10 a.m. was -5 degrees Celsius.
