Spending free time in nature

International camp - spending free time in nature.
The Alpine Association of Slovenia will host 35 young people from seven European countries from 25. 8. to 3. 9. 2013 at Šenkova Domačija on Zgornje Jezersko. The project titled Izberi naravo (Ditching the wifi for the wildlife) arose from the idea of actively spending free time in nature. The international dimension is provided by the main financier of the project, the European Youth in Action programme.
Project partners come from France, Romania, Czech Republic, Malta, Estonia and Turkey.
By staying in tents and learning the basics of mountaineering, ethics, culture and general values of mountain life, raising awareness of the situation in the field of active spending of free time in nature, reasons for this situation and possible changes, experiencing the importance of movement away from urban centres and creating personal contacts with citizens of different European countries, we want to awaken in young people the desire for work and activities in nature and at the same time spread the idea of European consciousness.
Specifically, the young people will go on three mountain hikes, try traditional alpine farm chores, debate different opinions, tremble in an adrenaline park, socialise at national evenings, think about common challenges, engage in sports, get to know Slovenia and unite their fates in common life for ten days.
Through work and socialising, we will learn the true value of non-formal learning and the breadth of thinking enabled by youth work. Young people are opening space and want to actively participate in building the Europe of the future. We believe we can do it.
The camp can be followed interactively throughout via the social network Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/12345dwfw), where we will daily post photos and write a blog.
