Due to high temperatures, the snow cover softens during the day and one sinks deeply into it. In the middle of the day, the avalanche danger increases on sun-exposed slopes, and even with minor additional load, an avalanche of wet, partially bonded snow can be triggered.
Since the snow freezes overnight, there is particularly high risk of slipping in the morning hours.
