Survey - Aljaž Tower

Which year was the Aljaž Tower erected on Triglav? That was the question in the recent survey.

The correct answer is the year 1895.



The tower was erected on 7.8.1895 at the initiative of the then Dovje parish priest Jakob Aljaž, who donated the tower and the summit to the Slovenian Alpine Association. Anton Belec and his assistants erected the tower in approximately 5 hours.
