Dear visitors of the Hribi.net portal.
Before you is the SURVEY - AVALANCHE (http://plazovi.grzs.si), available to everyone who will or has already (in this and future winters) encountered an avalanche. No rescue service intervention was necessary, so we have no data whatsoever on this incident, on the basis of which all those engaged in education or rescue could improve our work.
With your help and your data, we want to arrive at some answers:
- how many accidents or near-misses in avalanches happen to Slovenian mountaineers in the area of Slovenia (the map also covers the border areas of Austria and Italy)
- what is the mountaineering qualification of those involved
- how they were equipped on the tour and
- what the avalanche conditions were at the time of the incident
With the collected data, you will substantially help improve avalanche safety in Slovenia.
The SURVEY is anonymous. We will certainly be pleased if you still leave your data so we can contact you if necessary.
To inform as many people as possible about the SURVEY, I kindly ask you to post the SURVEY link on your websites, on your blogs, post on FB or at least like this information. I ask all GRS societies, mountaineering societies and alpine sections to add the survey link to their website and thus enable access to the SURVEY for as many mountain visitors as possible.
