Survey - lowest temperature
27.01.2011
What was the lowest temperature measured on the territory of Slovenia? That was the question in the recent survey.
The correct answer is -49.1°C (according to some data -49°C).
The mentioned temperature was measured in the Mrzla Komna frost hollow (area of Lepa Komna, more precisely between Planina na Kraju and Planina Poljanica) on 9 January 2009.
"Regarding the officiality of the measurements, this data of -49 degrees was not measured in the ARSO measuring stations network and is therefore unofficial. However, the measurements we have been conducting for the fifth year are in accordance with the World Meteorological Organization."
