Temporary road closure in Topla Valley

Due to road surface renovation, the road through Topla Valley is closed until September 3rd inclusive. Detour possible via Preval Pass.

The road through Topla Valley, which also serves as a hiking trail, is CLOSED due to asphalt paving until presumably September 3, 2025.

Detour to the starting point of hiking trails on Pece at the former Topla mine entrance is possible via Koprivna Valley, past Planinski dom Kumer and over Preval Pass. For ascent to Pece, you can also choose all other starting points (Jakobe, Mitnek, karavla Terča).

NOTICE TO HIKERS: We recommend that hikers check the current status of hiking trails on the website stanje-poti.pzs.si, at the nearest mountain hut, or with the local mountaineering association beforehand. If you notice damage to hiking trails or their inadequate maintenance (faded markers, overgrowth, etc.), please send a message to poskodbe.poti@pzs.si specifying which hiking trail you observed the deficiency on, describe the deficiency, and if possible, attach a photo.

The user is obliged to use the hiking trail in such a way that no damage is caused to it, to the land through which it passes, to other properties, or to the flora and fauna along it. It is prohibited to restrict access to hiking trails or to damage, remove, or destroy markers, signposts, logbooks, safety equipment, and other signs, or to use unmarked shortcuts.
