The announcement of the 17th Festival award winners is approaching

The festival events have entered the second half, ahead is still Thursday's lecture by the exceptional alpinist Andrej Štremfelj, you must not miss his Crystals of Luck - at 6 PM in Linhart Hall. Friday, the last day of the festival, will bring, besides the lecture by young alpinist Anja Petek, also the names of the winners with explanations from the expert jury. In addition to the main award from the city of Domžale and awards in individual categories, Televizija Slovenija will also present a special award this year.
The announcement of the winners with presentation will take place on Friday, February 17, at 12 PM in Cankarjev dom, Lili Novy Hall. Screenings of award-winning films will be at 6 PM (Linhart and Kosovel Halls) and at 8 PM (Linhart Hall and in Kino Radol'ca, Radovljica). The jury of the 17th Festival consists of: producer, director and cameraman Jure Niedorfer, art historian and journalist Melania Lunazzi, and writer, translator, alpinist and world traveler Dr. Iztok Osojnik. The film for the special TV Slovenia award is selected by a jury consisting of: Aleša Valič, Tatjana Markošek and Miha Lampreht.

CLIMBING

Take a peek into the life of Bosi Charles (Charles Albert), who will show you what it means to live as one with nature, while also introducing some of his bouldering projects that border on the impossible and hint at the future of bouldering.

Join Siebe Vanhee as he tackles the hardest long route in Yosemite Valley, and discover his authentic approach to climbing. Siebe soon realized that the famous Dawn Wall would be a tough nut to crack, resulting in a film based on personal confessions and stunning footage that tells more than just a climbing story.
Benoît Regord & Albéric Lemercier / Basalt Island / France, 2022, 27'
In the last twenty years, a very active climbing community with numerous excellent individuals has developed on the small island of Reunion Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. We will visit them and try to unravel how they managed to turn factors that many would call drawbacks (heat, humidity, smooth rock, remoteness) to their advantage, creating a true climbing paradise.

My phantom is an intimate and honest story of Dutch alpinist Line van den Berg, highlighting the role of women in the world of modern alpinism. Line spent years searching for the "perfect" climbing partner to share her passion for mountains, while facing numerous challenges in a sport dominated by men. But it turned out that finding a climbing partner might be secondary, as Line primarily had to find her place in society.

Richard Coray was a reticent Swiss builder who created incredible load-bearing structures using brackets and auxiliary bridges. His constructions were truly spectacular. He also dealt with basic questions of timber construction. As a carpenter, he gained fame worldwide during his lifetime, and to this day, his legendary work is admired by both engineers and laypeople.?
