One of the most demanding mountain trails in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps open again
The best mountain trail of 2021 was renovated by path markers of PD Kranj and the Alpine Association of Slovenia
The mountain trail from Kranjska Koča na Ledinah to Koroška Rinka is once again ready for new challengers after several years of closure. Thanks to the efforts of the path markers, the trail now awaits well-prepared hikers in a safer form.

Despite the magnificent views rewarding those who successfully conquer the trail, it is not suitable for inexperienced and poorly equipped hikers. The start is relatively gentle, but the continuation along the northern slopes is much steeper. The Alpine Association of Slovenia (PZS) warns that basic high-mountain gear is essential: high or mid-cut boots with good soles, helmet, climbing harness, via ferrata lanyard kit, and gloves.

Although the trail received the most votes last year, some works were postponed to this year due to weather conditions. During the renovation, path markers from Mountaineering Society Kranj carried out basic maintenance such as cleaning and trail marking. The technical team of path markers from the Alpine Association of Slovenia replaced worn protections with new ones on extremely exposed terrain, as reported by PZS. The best mountain trail of 2022 is also known. Funds for renovation under the Triglav Insurance (Clean Our Mountains) initiative this year go to another extremely demanding trail, Hanzova Pot.

According to Miha Marenčej, representative of PD Kranj, the view from Koroška Rinka is exceptional: "The mountain trail suitable only for experienced and well-equipped hikers is finally renovated and reopened. Cables and pins have been replaced, the trail is newly marked. In the crumbly section, we found and set up a 'bypass' in more solid rock. We therefore invite all experienced hikers to climb again from Kranjska Koča na Ledinah to Koroška Rinka, from where there is a wonderful view. The mountains above Jezersko, including Koroška Rinka, certainly captivate with their pristine and wild world seldom visited by hikers."
