Trdinova Trail in Kočevski Rog thoroughly restored

Markacists of the Inter-Society Committee of mountaineering associations of Dolenjska and Bela Krajina restored sections of the Trdinova Trail between Soteska, Podstenice and Vrh Roga, and between Baza 20 and Podstenice on Saturday, 22 October 2016.

In addition to the mentioned two sections, we also restored some variants of the Trdinova Trail in this area.



30 markacists from as many as eight mountaineering associations participated in the work action. Thus, markacists from mountaineering associations from Kočevje, Semič, Črnomelj, Metlika, Trebnje, Šentrupert, and markacists from two Novo Mesto associations - the Hiking Association and Krka, which also organized the entire action, joined forces.

In total, we restored, and in some places completely newly marked around 35 km of hiking trails. Due to timber harvesting and past ice storms, snow breaks, windfalls and other natural disasters, it was necessary on some parts of the mentioned trail to paint new markings, as they had "disappeared" together with parts of the forest and its sanitation.



The work action took place in beautiful weather and a friendly atmosphere and was fully successful as such. Thanks for this go primarily to the dedicated markacists of the associations connected in the MDO PD Dolenjska and Bela Krajina.
