Trekking Poles

Did you know that trekking poles relieve the leg muscles and pelvis while strengthening the arm muscles? Trekking poles also help in deep snow, making it easier to advance.
Trekking poles can prevent a fall or slip, but improper use can cause an accident. When walking with poles, we must be careful not to trigger rocks with them and to pack them in the backpack on climbing routes since they hinder climbing. If descending the same path, it is best to leave them just before entering the climbing section and pick them up on the way back. However, they might be gone upon return, so it is good to hide them behind a rock.
For walking, we can use ski or telescopic poles. Telescopic ones are much more practical since we can adjust the length, which is shorter on ascent than on descent.
