The wall in Korea was illuminated by warm sun for the last time for one hour. The cold set in, but the best from the morning semifinal soon warmed us with their performance. Nine finalists competed for the last time for the top places in the ice climbing World Cup at the first Asian competition in the history of world ice climbing.



The judges had quite a bit of work. Among the women, after a complication with clipping, Angelica Rainer repeated her performance, who otherwise qualified first for the final. The last hold among the men was almost shared by two competitors, only seconds decided who reached it first. After the judges' review, Markus Bendler from Austria (winner of the 2010 World Cup) celebrated the victory, while the local Hee Yong Park settled for second place. Among the girls, the victory went to Russia, to Maria Tolokonina.
