The saddle is located 3 km south from the center of Weißenbach am Attersee and 5 km north-northeast from the center of Russbach. The nearest mountain hut is Buchberghütte, located 7km west-northwest. Closer is Jhtt., which is located 0.7km to the northwest. 0.7 km south of the saddle there is lake Haleswiessee. The saddle is located above the valley Weißenbachtal.
