The saddle is located 3 km north from the center of Sankt Kathrein am Hauenstein and 4 km east-northeast from the center of Alpl. At the top there is also mountain hut Hauereckschutzhütte. And Holta-Hütte is also close by. The saddle is located southeast of the valley Glawockengraben.
