Passo del Chiodo is a saddle at an altitude of 1457 meters. The saddle is located 10 km south from the center of Selva and 10 km west from the center of Tornolo and 1.6 km north of peak Pennino. The nearest mountain hut is Rifugio Monte Penna, located 3km east-southeast. A little further is bivouac Rifugio Prato Grande.
