Großes Degenhorn is 2946 meter high peakon which a cross stands and is part of the Villgraten Mountains. The peak is located 7 km south-southwest from the center of St. Veit in Defereggen and 7 km southeast from the center of St. Jakob. The nearest mountain hut is Mooseralm, located 3km northwest. A little further is bivouac Eggenwand Schipfl. The peak is located west of the valley Winkeltal.
