Hinterberg is 763 meter high peak. The peak is located in country Austria 1.4 km northwest from the center of Jasenegg and 1.6 km east-northeast from the center of Prinzelndorf. The nearest mountain hut is Schutzhütte Peilstein, located 8km west. A bit closer is bivouac Bus stop 'Eitental Ort', which is located 5km to the southeast. South of the summit is the valley Schwarzaugraben.
