Prinzkogel is 1273 meter high peak and is part of the Prealps East of the Mur. The peak is located 3 km east-southeast from the center of Rettenegg and 6 km north-northeast from the center of St. Jakob im Walde. The nearest mountain hut is Rabl-Kreuz-Hütte, located 5km east-southeast. A little further is altes Mauthäuschen. North-northeast of the summit is the valley Fröschnitzgraben.
