Topolovec is 622 meter high peak located in the Karawanks mountain range. The peak is located 3 km north-northeast from the center of Lajše and 3 km east from the center of Zavodnje. The nearest mountain hut is Poštarski dom pod Plešivcem, located 9km north-northwest. A bit closer is hunting cottage Trsojca, which is located 7km to the west-northwest. 5 km south of the peak there is lake Družimirsko jezero. East of the summit is the valley Mislinjski jarek.
