Unterer Moschkogel is 1367 meter high peak and is part of the Prealps East of the Mur. The peak is located 2 km north-northwest of peak Pretul. The nearest mountain hut is Naturfreundehaus Ganzalm, located 1.6km west-southwest. Even closer is Jagdhütte Hofreit, which is located 1.1km to the northeast. The peak is located south of the valley Wallersbachgraben.
