Access to starting point:
From the road Kobarid – Bovec in the village Žaga we turn towards the border crossing Učja. On the Italian side at the intersection where the road branches right towards the saddle Karnica and Rezija, we continue left or straight in the direction of the town Videm/Udine. We follow the road to the pass Tam on the border and start descending through the valley Val di Mea. From the pass we continue for another good 2 km then on the right we will notice the hut Rifugio Pian dei Ciclamini. We continue on the main road and soon another narrow road branches off to the right towards Srednji Bošek, and a little after that on the left side of the road we will notice a narrow road and a mountain signpost. We turn onto the mentioned narrow road. We park at the beginning of the mentioned narrow road.
Route description:
From the starting point we continue on the narrow road, which soon turns right and starts ascending transversely. The road runs in a westerly direction and occasionally ascends somewhat more steeply. On the steeper sections the road is concreted. On such a road we reach the renovated shepherd's hut Casera Cripizza.
Here we continue left and for some time still ascend on the steep road. Further on the road becomes gentler and leads us to a junction where another path from a lower starting point joins from the right.
We continue left where the signpost with path number 710 directs us. The road or cart track then ends, and we continue on the marked path through the forest. The path then ascends for a long time through the forest in a southerly direction. Higher up near the spring Tasacuzion we will also notice some ruins and stone fences for livestock along the path.
Further on the path turns slightly left and leads us through a somewhat sparser forest and along shrubbery. Higher up there is still an ascent along dwarf pines, then a somewhat less trodden trail leads us to the main ridge below Veliki vrh.
On the ridge where a view to the south opens up we continue left on the marked path. We follow the trail along the grassy ridge, which quickly leads us to a marked junction.
Right downhill the path leads towards the village Viškorša (Monteaperta), but we continue on the narrow trail that continues along the ridge towards the east. Further on we walk on a less trodden trail, and the ridge becomes occasionally quite steep especially on the south side. On the path we ascend and descend slightly several times, and at some places the path also leads over a somewhat more exposed slope where a little more caution is needed. Later the ridge becomes somewhat wider and the scenic path soon leads us to the summit of Brinica where there is a small cross and a registration box.

Along the route: Casera Cripizza (851m)
