cebelca just took the words right out of my mouth... purely informatively I was interested if anyone has gone to Triglav with a dog. I didn't want to provoke any nasty debates and judging people based on what's written. I know what it looks like to go to Triglav and I'm aware that going up with a dog isn't child's play. Given the number of pictures I've seen, where all people have gone to the mountains with dogs and what kinds of equipment they sell (http://www.kibuba.com/index.php?&cID=7&scID=47&pID=1800) I just wanted to find out informatively what experiences they had with hiking specifically to Triglav with dogs (or in the direction of Triglav). We have also gone with the dog to many mountains and I know what he's capable of. I know, and also as a responsible dog owner I will in no way endanger the safety of the dog, myself and all other people. So that I won't be reported as a dog torturer now just because of the question. PEACE!

@GregorC: I didn't say going to Triglav is a piece of cake...

Nor did I say I'm going 100% with the dog to Triglav. It was just an informative question, because I wondered if anyone goes up with a dog at all or which path towards Triglav is most suitable for going with a dog and as I said reaching the top isn't necessary for me...first it's that the dog enjoys walking and running normally and not that it becomes torture for the dog and owner and everyone present.
We've already been on several ascents and we're not taking the dog on a tour for the first time.

regarding care no problem...we'll wait with dog somewhere below, others go to top. Thanks sandra anywaynasmeh

yeah probably we'll do it so that the dog goes to where no climbing is needed. Don't think we want to reach Triglav with dog at any cost now. Just curious which path is most suitable to go with dog (no need to reach the top).

@tol: the dog is our family member and we go on trips together...that's why I want to ask here if anyone has already gone with a dog and how it was...then we'll decide if we go to the top or not. the dog has enough stamina, but we definitely won't go somewhere we think isn't suitable for the dog.

Has anyone been to Triglav with a dog? Which route to choose? The dog is quite big, weighs about 40kg so carrying it far is out of the questionnasmeh
