Kamniška Bistrica - Kokrsko saddle - Grintovec - Long ridge - Štruca - Skuta - Turkish mountain - Kamnik saddle - Kamniška Bistrica

On Monday the idea came up to go to the mountains for the weekend and on Tuesday the decision that this time it should be Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The plan was to connect Grintovec and Skuta in one stage. Well on Thursday, given the forecasted stable nice weather, the decision also fell to connect Kokrsko and Kamnik saddles as well.
So on Sunday morning we started still in the dark from Kamniška Bistrica towards Kokrsko saddle. At the lower cable car station it was already light enough to put away the headlamps and bite into the steepness. Soon we were already drinking coffee at Kokrsko saddle. Followed a quick ascent over the roof to Grintovec. From Grintovec we headed over the Long ridge to Skuta, from yesterday onwards my favorite trail in our mountains. The ridge is extremely beautiful, views ideal, rock super, protections just right, some free climbing always makes it more interesting. Before reaching Skuta we made a detour to Štruca, and obligatory selfie at every summit. Since time and weather were still on our side at Skuta we didn't even think of plan B and headed directly towards Turkish mountain. Descent from Skuta is not one of the day's highlights, nor is the descent from Turkish mountain. Upon arriving at Kamnik saddle we decided that due to the approaching darkness we should descend to Kamniška Bistrica as soon as possible and only there enjoy the well-deserved refreshment.
Definitely a nice circular tour, but perhaps more recommended as a two-day trip.

Dad couldn't come along...and even if he did we'd have to shorten the tour a lot, cos this would be too long for him. Not the youngest anymore
