roger, today I did the tour Robanov Kot - Ojstrica. It's a very demanding tour. At normal pace it should take 5 hours 15 min, my slightly faster pace got me to the top in a little less than four hours. Don't take it lightly! It starts with an easy walk to Robanova Planina (just under one hour), then it climbs more in the forest and when the path reaches the wall, "hell" begins. Follows almost 1000m of extremely steep ascent along rocks with countless protections (wire ropes, pegs...). Protections are good, no worry for safety with smart walking, in the morning the ascent in this gully is mostly in shade. With fast pace I made a mistake, as I ran out of strength at the end for the final push to the top. You need to take time and rest as needed. When the path reaches Molička Planina, the steepness eases and finally a somewhat easier ascent follows. The path then leads to a junction where you can choose the hut at Korošica or the summit of Ojstrica. Steepness to Mala Ojstrica is not bad, then it steepens again and requires good fitness. From Molička Planina onwards it's fully exposed to sun and heat. At the top I chatted with passers-by, then descended towards Škarje and Korošica. In Kocbekov dom I refilled drinks and headed to the car. Descent requires quite concentration and really careful stepping (slippery on sand) and use of protections. I have to say the descent dragged on and I could hardly wait for flat ground. Then follows return along the road to start, which is again quite drawn out.
I took the ascent as training (preparing for multi-day hike), hence faster pace. Started at seven in the morning, back in car at three. Once again, it's a strenuous tour requiring good fitness, lots of time and good company. Unfortunately didn't have the last two today, so the tour won't stay in the best memory.
No snow up there anymore, but everywhere, especially on steep parts, watch for rocks left by winter on the path. Slippage happens quickly.
Good luck
