Boč is an easily accessible peak even in winter and in snow. It was like this yesterday, 30. 10.

On Saturday, 29.10. ideal sunny weather without wind (fog in valley). On ascent snow still sufficiently frozen, descent breaking through on shady sides. Still no problems even without gaiters, as not much snow.

On Saturday 12.06. my colleague and I headed from Klemenča jama towards Planjava. No major obstacles on the path, you need to cross or bypass some snow patches. Still recommend ice axe or at least some pole ready for the case of a slip. For me the bigger problem on descent was scree that winter deposited on the path. So boldly and carefully! Best, Simon

For mountains optical zoom is useful, at least 10x. Usually such cameras are a bit bigger and more expensive and not exactly pocketable. Go to a store with larger selection, weigh them, check and then read tests and forums and decide.
I use Nikon D50, satisfied with pics, when I have some € I'll change lenses. It's a bit bigger and sometimes awkward to carry, but weight is offset by praise for good pics.
And a question for others: how can I upload pics to forum like davorin and geppo above?
