From Kobarid to Stol summit prob. 4h well marked so no problem, midway Bivak Hlek see upper link. From Stol to Muzca, Bivouac under Muzec prob. 1h30min. From Muzca to Breški jalovec (ita) prob. 2h30min, further on Italian side unfortunately don't know. Alpine path on our side of Stol ridge is nicely set up, demanding due to length and no water on ridge.

I can drive you from Breginj to Kobarid.

Connections are very poor (bus), best if you leave car in Breginj and go with friendly car to Kobarid. From Kobarid to Stol prob. 4h from Stol to nizki vrh another prob. 3h, from nizki vrh to Breginj another 2h, so approximately 9h hiking altogether.

Rather difficult because the entire ridge is divided into two parts: Kobarid - Ter valley and Ter valley - Gemona/Humin. The first part alone takes 2, 3 days. Veliki Karman ridge another day. Stol/Gran Monte massif, the longest ridge in the Julian Alps

It stretches in the westernmost part of Slovenia and continues in Benečija on the Italian side, almost 34 km from Kobarid to Humin (Gemona) in Italy. In the Slovenian part of the ridge it starts with Hum peak (1015m), Starijski vrh (1146 m) and slowly ascends to Stol (1673m) which is the highest peak. Important peaks are also Gabrovec (Gabruc) (1630 m) and Muzec (Musc) (1612 m), on top of Muzec there is exceptional view far around. A good kilometer west of them is Nizki vrh (1488 m) then the ridge passes to Italy and continues with Breški Jalovec / Punta di Montemaggiore (1613 m) and Brinica / Monte Briniza (1636 m), further west the Ter river deeply cuts the ridge, which on the other side continues in the same direction and reaches its highest point at Veliki Karman / Monte Chiampon (1709 m) above Gemona/Humin.
