Yesterday my friend and I managed to walk the first stage of PP and the term "adventurous scramble" seems very, very appropriate, because besides good fitness and no fear of heights, you also need pathfinding knowledge. When the path hides under snow, as happened under Ponci, you also need excellent orientation. The start of the first stage is a wonderful prelude of nature that accompanies us, takes our breath away with its beauties, and awakens deep emotional impulses right to the hut in Tamar. If that's not enough for someone, you can add a visit to the Nadiža waterfall, which is the first spring of Sava Dolinka. The wonderfully colorful vegetation that accompanied us along sometimes barely visible paths really completely captivated me. Under the mighty Ponci there was still a lot of snow, so my friend's experiences were very welcome. Once you walk the first stage of PP you're "hooked" and already planning how to "attack" the next one. It seemed almost impossible to me, but we met two experienced "stage walkers" of PP who said some stages have become impassable because they were washed away and you'd have to use climbing methods, which doesn't count for hiking. Juš or some other off-trail enthusiast, I'm interested if you can share some more useful experiences or info about the other stages. I know there aren't many of you and that's how it should be. Let some remain only for the chosen ones. Wishing to experience similar adventures as soon as possible, I greet you warmly and wish you plenty of enjoyment discovering the paths. One of the best moments is when you discover you're on the right path, whether in life or in the mountains. Nataša P.

I agree that arm strength can sometimes be crucial, but we shouldn't neglect leg strength either if we're going to climb the via ferrata in Gonžarjeva peč. I climbed it yesterday, but without strong encouragement from my friend it wouldn't have worked. At that section where the climber slipped, I also had some trouble, but I was lucky there was a climber behind me who helped me rest a bit, then it went without problem. Congratulations to all involved in making this via ferrata, as the route and difficulty are perfectly graded and considering the wonderful nature around, it would really be a shame not to try it. But as I said, without encouragement I would have missed the wonderful feelings when you reach the top where a bench awaits tired climbers and offers a beautiful view of the landscape. Lots of enjoyment to all others who will tackle Gonžarjeva peč.
