Großer Geiger is 3360 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 3 km west-southwest of peak Hohes Aderl. The nearest mountain hut is Kürsingerhütte, located 3km north. A little further is bivouac Blinigalm. 0.7 km west-southwest from the summit there is glacier Maurerkees, 3 km west-northwest from the summit there is also glacier Krimmlertörlkees. South of the summit is the valley Maurertal. The peak is located above the ridge Dorferkamm.
