The nearest mountain hut is Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte, located 1.2km southeast. A little closer is bivouac Glocknerbiwak, which is located 0.8km to the north-northeast. 5 km east-southeast of the saddle there is lake Sandersee. 0.9 km southwest from the saddle there is glacier Teischnitzkees, 1.3 km east-northeast from the saddle there is also glacier Glocknerkees.
