The peak is located 0.5 km east-northeast of peak Hinteres Sonnwendjoch and severo-severowest above the mountain pasture Frommalm. The nearest mountain hut is Mariandlalm, located 6km east-northeast. Closer is Untere Schmaleggalm, which is located 4km to the southwest. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Thierseetal.
