Großer Torstein is 1330 meter high peak in the Hochschwab Mountains. The peak is located 3 km north-northwest from the center of Hinterwildalpen and 5 km west from the center of Wildalpen and 5 km south-southeast of peak Hochkar. The nearest mountain hut is Brunnecker Hütte, located 8km north-northeast. Closer is Hirschbodenhütte (Jhtt.), which is located 5km to the southeast. East-northeast of the summit is the valley Im Tiefen Grund.
