Hoher Kalmberg is 1833 meter high peakon which a cross stands in the Salzkammergut Mountains. The peak is located 4 km northeast from the center of Gosau and 5 km southwest from the center of Gschwandt. The nearest mountain hut is Goiserer Hütte, located 1.1km north-northwest. And bivouac Wallmann-Poidl-Rast is also close by. East-southeast of the summit is the valley Koppental.
