The saddle is located 7 km northwest from the center of Innergschlöß and 7 km northwest from the center of Außergschlöß. The nearest mountain hut is Neue Thüringer Hütte, located 1.7km west. A little further is Vorderofnerhütte. 2 km northwest from the saddle there is glacier Waidsfeldkees, 3 km south-southwest from the saddle there is also glacier Nördliches Viltragenkees. The saddle is located above the valley Habachtal.
