Windischscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2298 meters located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located in country Austria 0.8 km southeast of peak Faulkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Franz-Fischer-Hütte, located 1.8km southwest. A little further is Obere Gasthofalm (verfallen). 5 km west-southwest of the saddle there is lake Tappenkarsee. South of the saddle is the valley Maltatal.
