Niedere Schreiberwand is 2494 meter high peak in the Dachstein Mountains. The peak is located 9 km northeast from the center of Filzmoos and 9 km south-southwest from the center of Hallstatt. The nearest mountain hut is Adamekhütte, located 0.4km southwest. A little further is Ebenalm. 1.7 km south-southeast from the summit there is glacier Großer Gosaugletscher, 4 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Schladminger Gletscher. South of the summit is the valley Preunegg.
