Hintere Gubachspitze is 3387 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.0 km southeast of peak Umbalköpfl. The nearest mountain hut is Warnsdorfer Hütte, located 3km north. A little further is bivouac Blinigalm. 0.9 km east-northeast from the summit there is glacier Simonykees, 1.6 km southwest from the summit there is also glacier Umbalkees. The peak is located south-southeast of the valley Krimmler Achental.
