Palfner Scharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2321 meters located in the High Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 0.7 km northwest of peak Palfner Seekogel. The nearest mountain hut is Graukogel Bergstation, located 2km north-northwest. A bit closer is Reedseehütte, which is located 1.8km to the east-northeast. East-northeast of the saddle there is lake Windschursee. 5 km east-southeast from the saddle there is glacier Tischlerkarkees, 5 km east-southeast from the saddle there is also glacier Grubenkarkees. The saddle is located west of the valley Kleinelendtal.
