Lainkarkogel is 2431 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 6 km east-southeast from the center of Böckstein and 6 km southeast from the center of Bad Gastein. The nearest mountain hut is Hannoverhaus, located 4km south-southeast. Closer is Radeckalm, which is located 1.7km to the south. 0.5 km north-northeast of the peak there is lake Gamskarlsee. 4 km east from the summit there is glacier Tischlerkarkees, 4 km east from the summit there is also glacier Grubenkarkees. East of the summit is the valley Kleinelendtal.
