Sandkogel is 2214 meter high peak located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 4 km northwest from the center of Pöllau am Greim and 6 km north from the center of Feistritz am Kammersberg. The nearest mountain hut is Greimhütte, located 2km east-southeast. A little further is bivouac Hinteregg Petz im Moos. West-southwest of the summit is the valley Rantengraben.
