The peak is located 5 km north of peak Dürrenstein and north-northeast above the mountain pasture Pauschenalm. The nearest mountain hut is Herrenalm, located 4km southeast. Closer is Jagdhütte Gamseck, which is located 0.5km to the south-southwest. Northwest of the summit is the valley Kothbergtal.
