Steinkareck is 2571 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 4 km north-northeast of peak Großelendkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Kattowitzer Hütte, located 4km east. A little further is bivouac Albert-Biwak. 4 km south-southwest from the summit there is glacier Großelendkees, 5 km south-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Trippkees. The peak is located west-northwest of the valley Maltatal.
