The saddle is located 4 km south from the center of Böckstein and 7 km south-southwest from the center of Bad Gastein. The nearest mountain hut is ÖBB Schutzhütte, located 1.6km north-northeast. Höhkaralm is also relatively close. 7 km west-southwest from the saddle there is glacier Schapperebenkees. The saddle is located northwest of the valley Seebachtal.
