Thierbacher Kogel is 1310 meter high peak and is part of the Kitzbühel Alps. The peak is located 4 km west-northwest from the center of Auffach and 5 km northeast from the center of Alpbach and 3 km east-northeast of peak Gratlspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Hohlriederalm, located 3km south-southeast. A little further is Obere Hämmermoosalm. Southwest of the summit is the valley Alpbachtal.
