Rosskogel is 2254 meter high peak located in the Lower Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.3 km north-northeast of peak Plattenspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Vögeialm, located 3km north. A little further is bivouac Knappenstube. 0.7 km north of the peak there is lake Schroffensee. Northeast of the summit is the valley Obertal.
