Markogel is 680 meter high peak and is part of the Lavanttal Alps. The peak is located 1.0 km south-southwest of peak Generalkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Mühlbacherhütte, located 11km north-northwest. A bit closer is Eddi´s Holzhackerhütte, which is located 7km to the north. East-northeast of the summit is the valley Annengraben.
