Grubenkarkopf is 3001 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 10 km east-southeast from the center of Bad Gastein and 10 km east-southeast from the center of Böckstein. The nearest mountain hut is Hannoverhaus, located 4km southwest. A little further is bivouac Ali-Lanti-Biwak. 0.8 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Grubenkarkees, 1.1 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Kleinelendkees.
