Herzog-Ernst-Spitze is 2933 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 10 km northeast from the center of Zirknitz and 10 km east-northeast from the center of Apriach. The nearest mountain hut is Naturfreundehaus Neubau, located 1.9km northwest. A little further is Hinternaßfeldalm. 4 km south of the peak there is lake Weißsee. 1.3 km southeast from the summit there is glacier Mölltaler Gletscher, 3 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Schapperebenkees.
