Große Mirnitzspitze is 2985 meter high peak and is part of the Schober Group. The peak is located 6 km north-northeast from the center of Alkus and 6 km northeast from the center of Gwabl. The nearest mountain hut is Hochschoberhütte, located 2km west-northwest. A little further is bivouac Gösnitzkopf-Biwak. 7 km northeast from the summit there is glacier Hornkees. East of the summit is the valley Debanttal.
